Orthodontics

Orthodontics is the treatment of irregularities of the teeth and jaws, including crooked teeth or improperly fitting teeth. The Dental Faculty Practice offers comprehensive orthodontic services for children and adults.

Patients who may benefit from orthodontic treatment include those with overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, misplaced midline, spacing or gaps in the teeth, or crowding of the teeth.

Treatment helps improve facial appearance, avoid tooth decay or gum disease, and prevent stress on chewing muscles that may lead to headache, TMJ syndrome and head, neck, shoulder or back pain.

Services include:

  • Braces
  • Clear braces/aligners (Invisalign)
  • Corrective jaw surgery on the upper or lower jaw (surgical orthodontics)
  • Retainers
