Pediatric Dentistry

The pediatric dentists of the Dental Faculty Practice at UNC-Chapel Hill provide preventive and dental care for children from infancy through adolescence.

Pediatric dentists have received advanced training in the oral health care needs of children. They work with general dentists and pediatricians, who may refer patients suited for specialized care.

Services include:

  • Preventive measures and sealants to protect against cavities and decay
  • Restoration of primary and young permanent teeth using crowns and fillings
  • Management of hard and soft tissue (bone and gum) diseases, and traumatic injuries
  • Space maintainers and minor tooth movement appliances
